Return and Refund Policy

Effective Date: June 15th, 2025

1. Scope and Intent

This Return and Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through the Gear 4 Outdoors website located at Gear4Outdoors.com ("Website").

3. Return Eligibility

Customers have the right to cancel their purchase and return the product within 14 days of receipt without providing any reason, subject to the conditions outlined below.

 NOTE: Some manufacturers have shorter time frames for returns and refunds.  If the product company has a policy that varies from what is stated here, that information will be listed on the site with the applicable policy stated for that product or that company.

3.1 Conditions for Change-of-Mind Return

  • Unused and Undamaged: The item must be unused, undamaged, and in the same condition that you received it.
  • Original Packaging: The item must be in the original packaging, with all labels and tags attached.  Any free gifts if included in the purchase must be returned at the same time.
  • Proof of Purchase: A receipt or proof of purchase is required.

3.2  Restocking Fee

      A restocking fee of 25% will be applied to all change-of-mind returns.

4. Return Process

4.1 Initiating a Return

  1. Contact Us:

Within 14 days of receiving your order e-mail Malcolm.Williams@gear4outdoors.com AND then call (207) 466-4044 to ensure that your email has been received within the 14 days.

Provide your order number and a detailed reason for the return.

    2.   Return Authorization:

After reviewing your request, if approved we will provide detailed return instructions and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and a prepaid shipping label.

4.2 Preparing Your Return

      1. Package the Item:

        Securely pack the item in its original packaging.

        Ensure all accessories, manuals, and any free gifts are included.

     2.   Include Documentation:

  Include the return authorization form and any necessary supporting documents or images.    

4.3 Attach Shipping Label:

      Download and print the return shipping label provided in our email.

      Affix the label to the outside of the package.

4.4 Shipping the Return

      Ship the package within 7 days of receiving the return authorization.

5. Return Costs

     Return shipping costs are covered by us if the procedures specified here have been followed.

6. Specific Return and Refund Conditions

6.1 Returns Due to Change of Mind

  • Eligibility:

       Items must be unused, undamaged, and in original packaging.

      Return request must be made within 14 days of receipt.

  • Restocking Fee:

There is a 25% restocking fee for change-of-mind returns. 

  • Refund:

A refund will be issued to the original payment method, minus any applicable restocking fees.

If shipping fees were charged, the refund will not include the shipping              fees.

6.2 Damaged Goods Received from Shipping.

  • Notification:

Check the packaging on receiving the delivery before signing the delivery notice.  Record the damage on the delivery notice and have the driver sign the form.  

 If the damage is significant, you can refuse delivery.  The product will be returned by the shipper.

Take pictures of the damaged product.

Notify the shipping company as soon as the damage is noticed.

Contact us within 1 business day of receiving the item informing us of the situation and the action taken. (See contact information at the bottom of the page.)

  • Documentation:

Provide photos or videos of the damage.

Send a photo or copy of the signed shipping form.

Provide a description of the damage to the product.

  • Resolution:

        We will offer a replacement or a full refund, including return shipping costs if necessary.

6.3 Defective Product Received

·         Notification:

Take pictures of the defective product or part to show as clearly as possible what the issue is.

Provide a description of the defect and the impact of that part on the                  whole product.

Notify us within 7 days of receipt of the product

·         Documentation:

           Email us pictures and a description of what the defective issue is.

           Call us to report the issue.

·         Resolution:

We will consult with the manufacturer to see if the defective part can be replaced or whether a full product return and replacement is appropriate.

We will notify you of the next step in resolving the issue.

6.4 Incorrect Product Received

  • Notification:

Inform us immediately upon receipt.

  • Resolution:       

We will arrange for the incorrect item to be returned (at our expense) and ensure that           you receive the correct product.

6.5 Product Never Arrived

  • Notification:

Contact us if your product does not arrive within the estimated delivery time.

  • Resolution:

We will initiate an investigation with the carrier.

If the product is confirmed lost, we will offer a full refund or send a replacement product.

6.6 Order Cancellation

  • Before Shipment:

You can cancel your order for a full refund if it has not yet been shipped.

  • After Shipment:

If the order has already been shipped, please follow the return procedure above after receiving the product.

There will be a restocking fee of 25%.

 7. Exceptions to the Return Policy

7.1 Non-Returnable Items

The following items are non-returnable and non-refundable:

  • Custom or Personalized Products:

Items made to your specifications or clearly personalized.

  • Gift Cards
  • Notice:  We only process refunds for items bought from our store with receipt or proof of purchase.

7.2 Deliveries not accepted in a timely fashion.

If you are not present to accept a delivery in a timely fashion and it is returned to us by the shipper, the return shipping charges, and the restocking fee will be taken from the refund amount.

8. Refunds

8.1 Refund Conditions

  • Approval:

Refunds are issued after the returned item has been received and inspected. 

All parts must be included in the return package.

Ensure all accessories, manuals, and any free gifts are included.

  • Notification:

We will notify you via email regarding the approval, partial approval or rejection of your refund.

·         Condition:

Items must meet the return eligibility criteria outlined in Section 3.

8.2 Refund Processing

  • Method:

Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used at the time of purchase.

  • Time Frame:

It may take up to 30 days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank or credit card issuer.  This also depends on the timing of receipt of the return and the time for the inspection of the item before the refund is issued, as well as on the bank or credit card issuer practices.

8.3 Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be granted in certain situations:

  • Condition Issues:

Items not in original condition, damaged, or missing parts for reasons not due to manufacturing or shipping problems, will reduce the refund amount dependent on the degree of damage, missing parts or wear and tear from use.

  • Late Returns:

Items returned more than 30 days after delivery. 

9. Timelines

  • Return Window:

Returns must be reported within 14 days of receiving the product.

  • Return Processing:

After receiving and inspecting the returned item, we will process the refund within 7 days.

  • Refund Period:

It may take up to 21 days for the refund to appear in your account after approval.

10. Legal Rights

       This Return and Refund Policy does not affect any statutory rights you               may have under applicable law.
